Fire prevention tip: Check Furnaces and combustibles

Posted by administrator on Monday, November 15th, 2010

The cause of a recent Idaho Falls fire has been determined. The furnace most likely was the source the fire, as was notied by fire investigator. Every one should, as the cold weather hits us...

...check out our furnaces and remove combustible materials around the furnace or heat source. Make certain your heat source is in good repair and working well. Take note of materials around your heat source...which could overheat and start a fire.

Keep materials away from any source of heat, especially space heaters. Clothing, curtains, drapes and even fabric covered furniture can catch fire if placed to close to heaters.
