Snow, Wind and Cold hit Eastern Idaho
Posted by administrator on Monday, November 22nd, 2010
This Thanksgiving week of 2010 could be a difficult one for travel here in Eastern Idaho. Snow, strong winds and freezing temperatures will affect all of us. In addition to travel plans here are some things to plan for...to prevent fire, smoke and water damage.
- Check out all heating sources. Be certain they work well and have a clear area around them.
- With single digit nights...check out water sources to ensure they don't freeze up. If you are heading out of town...keep the heat at a reasonable range.
- Outside water sources (wells, livestock watering etc.) check often and where possible have heat applied in a safe manner.
- Fire claimed the life of a Salmon youngster this week-end. Does your family have a fire exit plan? Does everyone know how to escape your home.
Be safe this Thanksgiving. Happy Thanksgiving.
